Indian Wells Hots Up with Quarter-Final Spots Being Finalised

The 2018 ATP Tour is well underway as the season storms ahead with everyone anticipating the next Grand Slam of the year not too far away. With some super tennis betting odds on the cards currently in the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells we look at one of the top draws of the fourth round.

An intriguing match-up waits in this round as South Africa’s Kevin Anderson squares off with Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta.

The duo’s meeting in California will be their 4th in their careers with Anderson having won all of the previous three.

Their most recent meeting was their most significant when 7th seed at Indian Wells, Anderson defeated Carreno Busta in four sets at last years US Open. On that occasion there was a lot more at stake than will be the case this time around – Anderson’s triumph sending him into the final at Flushing Meadows where he faced and was defeated with ease by Rafael Nadal.

What their last four tussle suggest about the coming match is that Anderson coped better with the pressure than this tournament’s 11th seed.

Carreno Busta has three career titles to his name and a world ranking high of 10, while Anderson who is five years the 26-year old’s senior, is in the form of his life.

Currently sitting at a career high 9th to Carreno Busta’s 14th, the man from Johannesburg has four titles to his name but more notably, since his appearance in the US Open showpiece match, has been in three finals this year – in Pune and Acapulco where the 6ft 8inch tall player was runner-up while he won the New York Open.

With such statistics and a booming serve, perfectly suited to hard courts, in his favour, the odds are certainly with Kevin Anderson to extend his record against Pablo Carreno Busta to 4 and 0 with a victory in California that will send him into the quarter-finals.
