Last Champions League Spots to Be Decided

Manchester United arrived in Belgium having already placed one foot in the door to UEFA Champions League qualification.

The Red Devils has a 3-1 aggregate lead over Club Brugge who will have to do all the chasing on Wednesday night.

United drew with Newcastle United at Old Trafford over the weekend that has left them in third position on the Barclays Premier League standings.

Wayne Rooney has not started his engine as yet and United will love nothing more than a big performance from their veteran on one of United’s most important assignments this season.

Brugge went down to Zulte-Waregem (2-0) that will be of concern as they have now leaked five goals in two matches while their only joy has come from a United own goal.

Lazio will take a 1-0 lead to Germany where they will face Bayer Leverkusen. Keita Baldé Diao was the hero in the first leg with a goal in the final period.

Leverkusen beat Hannover in their second Bundesliga assignment that has kept their unbeaten start to the league season on tract.

Lazio also made a good start to their Serie A season with a 2-1 victory over Bologna. This one should be interesting to watch!

Sporting Lisbon drew first blood against CSKA Moscow courtesy of Islam Slimani who netted the decider in the final 10 minutes.

Moscow will however be a different proposition at home where they are unbeaten in their last six encounters.

Moscow has also scored a goal in their last nine matches and if they manage another without reply it will be enough to progress and that’s all they matters at the end of the day.
