Super Rugby Game of The Week – Round 13

We are back for round 13 of this year’s Super Rugby and we really need to get back to winning ways after we only got 4 out of 7 this past weekend. Hop on and join us as we look at this week’s predictions.

The venue is Suva in Fiji, a neutral for both the Chiefs and Crusaders, who are ranked 3rd and 4th respectively in the overall log standings of the competition with only the Emirates Lions separating these two powerhouses in the Southern hemisphere.

The team from Hamilton are coming off a bye weekend and will be fresh to take on the only undefeated team in this year’s competition. They will also be banking on the fact that they have dominated the last four fixtures between these two sides, including last year’s clash at the same venue for this coming weekend. The only blemish to the Chiefs’ season to date is the match they lost in Cape Town against the Stormers in round 7.

The Crusaders are facing their neighbours for the first time this season and will be looking to continue their 11 game winning streak. They will be aware of the fact that they last beat the Chiefs narrowly by 1 point back in 2014 in a game that also only saw 1 try. Since then it’s been a tough task for the seven-time Super Rugby Champions to get the better over their counterparts.

They are however on a super run of form this year and have shown that no matter what the task they have the goods to get the “W”. This past weekend they beat the defending Champions in what was an epic encounter at the AMI Stadium and before that they had to dig deep when facing the Highlanders in round 2 and Blues in round 4 in games they had to come from behind to claim the spoils.

Could this be the Saders’ toughest test to date? Can the Chiefs maintain their winning run against the men from Christchurch?

Friday morning South African time all the answers will be revealed in what is sure to be a spectacle of note.
