Cheese Scones

A real go to fast snack or even a late Sunday night dinner idea.  Fast, easy and you can enrich it with anything from chilli flakes, bacon, blue cheese, your favourite herbs and even just a big spoon full of garlic.


Makes about 12 scones


  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup grated cheddar
  • 15 ml baking powder
  • 5 ml salt               
  • 2 ml cayenne pepper


  • Mix everything together, do not overmix.
  • Scoop spoonfuls in a greased muffin tin
  • Bake for 20 minutes at 180 °C
  • Serve with butter, jam, biltong or just enjoy it as it is…
