IPL 8 – Kings XI Punjab v Rajasthan Royals

After two great opening matches to the 2015 Pepsi Indian Premier League the stakes are high for game three of the eighth season of the world’s greatest T20 competition.

The Rajasthan Royals won the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League in 2008 but only managed to reach one semi-final after that (2013).

The Royals also shopped on foreign soil to find their captain for the 2015 season. Shane Watson from Australia is no stranger to the IPL having played in 68 matches.

Watson’s partners from Australia include the very talented James Faulkner, batting master Steve Smith and New Zealander bowling ace Tim Southee.

Other notables include Stuart Binny, Rusty Theron and Chris Morris from South Africa and Kane Richardson.

The Kings XI reached the final last year where they were beaten by the Knight Riders.

Could 2015 be the year that they finally break their duck?

They too have an Australian leader in George Bailey who was part of the World Cup winning squad earlier this year. Bailey has brought with him Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Johnson and Shaun Marsh.

David Miller and Cobras bowler Beuran Hendricks are the South African representatives while Virender Sehwag is the main attraction from India.

The Kings have a well-balanced side and could be a real threat if their imports from abroad manage to dominate with the bat.
