On Saturday 21 February we published an open letter to the Vodacom Bulls on our website after two weeks of dismal Super Rugby performances and two hours after we published the letter we had feedback from Blue Bulls Company CEO, Barend van Graan. Below is his response to our open letter which we wrote on behalf of the millions of Bulls supporters and ourselves who are proudly Blue.
Dear Jacques and fellow Bulls Supporters
Rugby, the Vodacom Blue Bulls included, is a lifestyle in South Africa within rugby supporters.
The standards to which the Bulls and Blue Bulls are measured have been put in place over the past 77 years by all the previous Northern Transvaal and Blue Bulls teams.
The performances in the past two Super Rugby matches have not been good enough. The management, head coach, coaching team, captain and players and I admit this and take responsibility for this.
There are however some positive aspects that we all can work with.
We will work harder at getting our Super Rugby campaign back on track again.
Bulls greetings
Barend van Graan
Chief Executive Officer – Blue Bulls Company
We really want to thank Mr van Graan for his time and effort to respond to this open letter and we look forward to seeing the team respond to this in the best way only they can, on the field!
Here’s to many happy days at Loftus and let’s show our team we care, and pack Loftus to the brim this and every other weekend the Bulls are playing and make it that feared cauldron teams talk about!
