Gingerbread Coffee

Traditional to Christmas is the smell and taste of freshly baked gingerbread biscuits.  This coffee is absolutely delicious and will definitely become a tradition in every household, and winter in July is the perfect time to remind you of that special Christmas feeling.

Makes 6 servings

INGREDIENTS:

  • 18 tablespoons coffee beans, coarse ground (if you are using a plunger)
  • 6 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 3 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 6 tablespoons molasses
  • 6 cups to taste boiling water
  • to taste milk, hot

METHOD:

  • Put all ingredients, except water and milk, into a press pot.
  • Add boiling water.
  • Stir with chopstick or handle of wooden spoon.
  • Put lid on pot and brew 4 minutes.
  • Press plunger and pour coffee into large cups.
  • Add hot milk to taste.
  • To make with drip coffee: Brew coffee and stir in spices and molasses. Strain into cup.
