On Saturday 7 September 2018 I was determined not to watch another Springbok match on television or any platform available to mankind, nor would I wear my Bok jersey when they play again until further notice, after losing to a beleaguered Wallaby outfit in a match that was yours for the taking, this after the biggest loss ever to Argentina in the history of the Springboks. It just became too much…

I can confirm that I wont be wearing my Bok jersey or watching them play until further notice!
If the Boks can’t give their best for 80mins then why should I?
Time Rassie gets a real Captain and drops the dead wood in that @Springboks team!

As a man of my word I did not get out of bed on Saturday 21 September 2018 when Captain Siya and the team ran out in Wellington in front of a packed Westpac Stadium. I was still hurting from what transpired the previous weeks leading up to this Test against the All Blacks, the world’s most successful rugby team and current World Champions.

I had many followers on my Twitter account as well as my wife urge me to switch on the telly and look at what you and your Springboks were doing and as much as I was tempted to do it I stuck to my word instead (I did watch the full match on Sunday).

Do I regret not switching it on? Oh yes I do but I regret it more for not trusting in you Rassie Erasmus, a man I have backed long before you got the official call to coach our nations pride and glory. A man I have been advocating for week in and week out even after losing to Wales in the USA (a game that I still believe should never have happened), after losing to England in the 3^rd Test at Newlands in June, even when things fell apart in Mendoza I was backing you against people that had lost faith.

I also regret not believing in the team, a bunch of men that do their damndest to make us supporters proud and take endless flack week in and week out without saying a word back to defend themselves against people that don’t know them like you and your coaching staff does.

Why did I fail you and the team?

My love for this game and the Springboks is so strong that it felt like the only way I could protect my memories of years gone by, cutting my thoughts off from the negativity surrounding the team, etc.

But today I would like to apologise unconditionally to you Rassie and every member and player that contributes to the makeup of the Springboks and who they are as human beings. I would also like to apologise to all supporters who follow me on Twitter and our website, TheYellowCap.com, who believe and trust in what I do through those platforms.

Lastly I would like to make it clear that I have nothing personal against you Siya and I wish people will stop making their own opinions on me, a person who actually believes that you are one of South Africa’s proudest ambassadors for everything you do on and mostly off the field. Your humility is far beyond what many of us know or show and for that you have all my respect.

I would like to pledge my full support to all of you in making the Springbok Dream a reality for our nation!
